What Will Matter?

It's a beautiful morning in my neck of the woods and I thought I'd pass along a little piece of sunshine and a perspective builder to kick off the weekend.

What Will Matter? by Michael Josephson

Enjoy the video and the message. We each do things every single day...that truly matter.

Thanks Lynn.

I loved this Lynn. 20/20: I've been hermatizing lately. You prompted me to send this out to my distant loved ones whom I've been neglecting lately. Thanks both.

Re: What Will Matter?

I loved this because its so in keeping with exactly what I believe. Thanks

Do you know much about the author? Is the Institute totally secular?

Watched a BBC4 documentary on 'What is wabi sabi' last night. Marcel Theroux (Louis Theroux's brother maybe???) Eventually found his 'wabi sabi' in a wood outside a zen buddhist monastery in the mountains in Japan where he had struggled for a day with clearing his conscious mind. lol.

Its a bit off the subject...but it was a very relaxing documentary because the actual film moves gradually from the massive complexity of Tokyo to the purest simplicity and peace in the mountains.

I took from it that it is simplicity, it is about deconstruction to the simplest form of anything and it is about awareness of the transient nature of what and who we are. What we leave behind that lasts a hell of a lot longer than us...and therefore what is really important....IS what we build, what we teach (even if it simply by teaching compassion and tolerance by our own actions) and how the people who love us remeber us...if they get a warm feeling when they remember us after we have gone...then I reckon we have just about led the best life possible.
