Ravine
I admit I have not written new poetry since high school, which was 13 years ago.
Ravine
As I stare at the ever widening ravine,
I wonder how shall I cross and live
If I survive, what awaits on the other side?
The uncertainty stops me and holds me
In a place of fear and discomfort.
I peer over the edge looking for a way down,
Hoping that a path will be revealed.
Suddenly the light from the full moon
Shines down and reveals the dark interior of the ravine.
I swoon with happiness when I see
That the ravine is not full of dangerous rocks
And animals, but a winding creek and meadow.
With a lightening heart and step,
I gladly follow the winding creek down the ravine.
Under the guidance of the light of the full moon,
Life seems less harrowing and full of promise and beauty.

Re: Ravine
That's really lovely, Steel. You have obviously not lost the talent at all. I love the imagery.
Hugs,
