Gaslighting Abuse
'The Cutting Board'
I cut your words up into pieces,
Fragments of falsity
Pure rage burnt into white paper
Swallowed acid's hoarse tongue
You are beyond hearing:
Hate on a slate.
Lay your noxious nouns
Along the hard surfaces
You have created in me,
Blamed me for the
transformation
Delinquent
Refugee from morality
Don't you know
I've read all the books now?
Armoured my frailty with
Truth, Truth
Truth I ask for-
Not the warped words of
Your fictional web,
Pages torn erratically
From multitudes of words to
deny, disseminate, invalidate
Not a symbiosis of the
Waning tides of
Your fractious mind,
Delusions to dizzy
Make memories go mad
Cut loose from their
Anchored, earthed origins
Zora's 'branches without roots'
Wavering in the wasteland
Of your occlusion
Admonitions raise high
The roof of my silence.
You are not hurting me,
This blood is a mirage
A construct of my
Weak personage
Tossed aside
“and here we enter
the blue door;
the green door;
there is no door...”
Whatever you fashion
In opposition
Synaptic senses
Remain something to
Vanquish
You walk away...
I am muted
Turned down low
Volumes fume inside,
Create my new
Hard edges
Steel shards on a track
Glinting dagger in the back.
And later you will reminisce,
'You were always so gentle.
What went amiss?'

information is twisted or spun, selectively omitted to favour the abuser,
or false information is presented with the intent of making victims doubt their
own memory, perception, and sanity. It is considered one of the most dangerous forms of
psychological abuse due to its' insidious erosion of the victim's sense of self.
